Download “Noob Killer” and get rid of Taga Lipa Are and its variants!

I got hit by this about a week ago. It’s a virus made by someone from MIT (Mapua, that is) and while it doesn’t do any major damage, it can get rather annoying. What follows are the symptoms and a guaranteed working removal tool.

If you got hit by this virus, you will encounter the following:

The words “TAGA LIPA ARE” on your Internet Explorer title bar
Inability to change your IE7 homepage
Inability to double click to open any of your disc drives (this includes removables, but you can open them in Windows Explorer)

Firefox will still work fine however, so I really didn’t bother fixing this until today.

The thing can be detected by AVG antivirus [only] although it is unable to remove it.

TO REMOVE THE VIRUS, DOWNLOAD THE FOLLOWING REMOVAL TOOL FROM EITHER LOCATION. NO NEED TO REFORMAT YOUR COMPUTER!

It is not created by the Lipenos. They only modified the original virus from somewhere. The “creator” said that He is a student of STI College Lipa but the only thing that he did is ripped the virus and modified it. Technically, he is a ripper but non the less a pathetic guy who just wants some attention.

HAHAHAHA… Ei RELAX.. saka it ain’t true that u can’t open your drives.. an autorun.inf kase is configured to run the virus script FS6519.dll … yan ung tlgang nakaconfigure ng mga executions ng TAGA LIPA ARE.. madali lang tanggalin po yan.. don’t worry.. =) there’s this hacker na kumontra jan pinagtawanan nga nya eh. gumawa sya ng pantanggal jan ang name nung executable is NOOB_Killer. hahaha. noob daw gumawa nung TAGA LIPA ARE. jejeje.. search nyo nlng ung FS6519.dll ,, then u guys will see the link on how to remove this STUPID VIRUS. lowlz. i hope i helped everyone in this forum ^^,) ciao .. pero try ko lng gawa ng link for download ha. hehehehehe

I was annoyed by the virus kasi di naman ako taga lipa or taga marinduque (other version). Taga Manila ako. Our ITC got the removal thing, the one on the top, noob killer is the name. If you have antivirus, it will detect maskrider something. I think filipino made yan. Di lang mapanira, pang-asar lang.

to help u remove it:

this virus is very simple and harmles but its very anoying, when your computer is infected there are two files saved in every drive of your computer (FS6519.dll.vbs, autorun.inf) with a read only attributes, these files are hidden, so configure your explorer to show hidden and system files(in windows explorer click tools, folder options, view, show hidden files and folders), its hard to delete but you can delete it though, it will write two registry entries:

click start, run type: regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run/FS6519.dll

to delete the word “TAGA LIPA ARE!” in IE delete this registry setting:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main/Window Title

delete these two registry settings then make sure you also deleted the two files located in

C:\Windows\FS6519.dll.vbs
C:\Windows\autorun.inf

and any fixed and removable drives connected when the virus infects will also be infected, so you need to delete those two files on all drives that you have.

my computer was also infected with that virus, but its fun knowing you can remove it by yourself, happy hunting!

Is it true that “Taga Lipa are Viruses” i hope not he he. some people are. That’s what i have in mind when my vfat external drive got the two files mentioned above in an internet cafe. Good thing, i first plugged it in my Linux box at home, and discovered those unusual files in the root directory.

I’m really irritated with this virus! I already deleted it from my registry, but it keeps coming back! Now, I think I have to reformat my computer. Huhuhu…my Run and Task Manager don’t work now. Do I really have to reformat my computer or I can still do somehting about the damn virus?

aha!! now i know how to remove mamatay na ang mga taga lipa.. its as simple as deleting the taga lipa are..just follow the same steps but this time delete the desktop.ini.vbs script file.. also dont forget to end the wscript processes on your taskmanager..

i have the “mamatay na ang mga taga lipa” version and i’ve tried to remove the problem using the tools above as well as all the other tips i can get from googling it. it’s still not fixed T_T i also read that this version is a bit different from the “taga lipa are” one so maybe i’m missing a step or two? pls help. thanks!

hey guys, try this one. It’s very effective but you should know how to use windows registry editor

1My Computer -> Tools Menu -> Folder Options -> View Tab:

2Select: Show hidden Files and Folders

3Uncheck: Hide Extensions for known file type and Hide Protected operating system

4.Click Yes Then OK.

5.You will see an autorun.inf and FS6519.dll.vbs in all your harddrives. Delete ALL of them.

.If it says that something is using the program. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and go to processes, end ALL wscript.exe

6.Then go to run type regedit and then press ok, go to Edit -> Find and type FS6519.dll.vbs.

7.Edit the found registry by selecting the name, ryt click and modify, remove the last two strings which is wscript.exe and FS6519.dll.vbs and click OK.

8.If finished, press F3 and it will search again for another, just do the same thing until nothing is found in your registry.

9.If you are done with the FS6519.dll.vbs, its time for the TAGA LIPA ARE! be edited in your IE, type the string on the search again then it will show up the IE title … modify then type anything you like or better delete it.

if you have problem accessing registry editor and your “run” dont’work do the following:
1.start>program>accessories>windows prompt>
2.type gpedit.msc
3.go to administrative templates>system
4. double click the the option ‘prevent acsess to registry editing tool”
5.choose enable>then choose apply this time
6.choose not configured then click apply again
7.click ok

8. you still don’t have “run” on your start menu yet so you have to donwload “norun.reg” program registry editor here..

just copy and face that link in your browser address bar..then
1.click save [let say local disk c:] but you can save it anywhere
2.just double click the downloaded file after the download is complete.

Download the program from winzip.com then open the file you download here. A zip file is a package of files. Once you open it, you’ll see a NOOB.KILLER program. Open it and click the options.

hello… Magkaiba po ang pagaalis ng taga Lipa are at Mamatay na ang mga taga lipa. My officemate’s computer was infected by Taga Lipa and using the step mention above naalis cya. Pero hindi ito nag work sa Mamatay na ang mga taga lipa virus. walang makitang autorun.inf at FS6519.dll.vbs so definitely it a different version of virus at different way of removing it rin. Maybe a bit updated. Please help!

There are several ways to remove it.

1.) Go to Run
2.) Type cmd
3.) Enter “taskkill /f /im wscript.exe
(This is necessary to kill the vbscript engine).
4.) type gpedit.msc then enter.(This only works for XP Pro not appicable for home users).
5.) Got to User Configuration>Administrative Templates>System
6.) Double Click on the Prevent Access to Registry Editing Tools and Click on Disable then Click Apply
7.) Do not close the gpedit window yet. On the command prompt type regedit
8.) Click edit then find. Search for fsxxxx (xxxx can be of different numbers and ending with .vbs) Delete all keys pointing to this key by doing search and delete). Careful not to delete keys not ending with the .vbs. Some varians are ttmsxxxx.
9.) On the command prompt type cd\
10.) type “attrib -r -s -h *.vbs” and enter
11.) type “del *.vbs” and enter
12.) type “attrib -r -s -h autorun.inf” and enter
13.) type “del autorun.inf” and enter
14.) Repeat this at all your local drives.
15.) Go to your root windows directory mostly c:\windows using the command prompt. (”Do no use the explorer since autorun might be present on your folder and the script will be executed again). repeate steps 10 to 13.
16.) Done

para sa “MAMATAY ANG TAGA LIPA”:

1. press ctrl+alt+delete to run task manager

2. go to “processes” and end “wscript.exe”

3. run the search/find option on the start menu for
“desktop.ini.vbs” and delete all instances of the same

4. make a new search for “autorun.inf” and delete as well.

5. and just to make sure you don’t have anything wonky left, go to “regedit” search for the string “mamatay” and modify it to something…er…friendlier? it should NOT go back to “mamatay…” when you restart the computer…

that routine worked for my unit, so it’ll hopefully do the same for yours. BTW, in my situation, “autorun.inf” wasn’t just in the outermost layer of my harddrives, but were also in the folders of my two biggest files (both games…) i deleted them anyway, (despite the fact that i was afraid it might damage the files in any way… but i realized i could reinstall) but it didn’t seem to affect the software.

Kudos to Sir Martin and Leerz. The virus was effectively removed from my computer.

As far as I understand, the tool removes the virus but it does not prevent it from occuring. Does any of you know of a step or tool to prevent it?

e safe mode mo muna pra yung USB mo hindi ma infect..
foll0w this instrcution to go to safe mode:
- restart pc then press F8 continously then it will appear a black screen with a white text..choose safe mode then enter, dailog box will appear click OK…Now, ypu can use your flash drive without infecting your USB drive..tnx!

There are casual users, and although they may be ‘noobs’ in some sense, nobody has the right to call them that in such a manner as you have done.
The fact that you have given an advice of which anti-virus to use is good but the labeling of ‘noob’ was not necessary.

The MINATAY virus works just like the LIPA and etc… all you have to do is run NOOB_KILLER.exe then click Advanced-{Noob KILL]. Under Script Filename type , without quotes, ‘minatay.dll.vbs’ and under Script Registry Entry type, again without quotes, ‘minatay’. Then Click OK.

I can now 2xclick my drives since the bold AUTOPLAY option in the context menu is gone.

sa lahat ng infected ng TAGA ESTI, MABUHAY!!! By Nicklaus S. Bunag here are the steps in removing it.

1.) press ctrl-alt-del go to process, then end all wscript.exe, i mean all ha.

2.) then go to My Computer, go to folder options through the tools menu then press the view tab, then to the advance settings window check on show hidden files and folders uncheck hide extensions for known file types and uncheck hide protected operating system files.

3.) go to My Computer again ryt click ur local drives your drive a(floppy drive), hard drive and your flash drive. find maskrider2001.vbs manually the single click on it then press shift delete.

4.) go to My computer ryt click and explore ur local hard drive( mostly drive c) go to WINDOWS and find maskrider2001.vbs then shift delete it.

5.) go to ur start up then press “run” type cmd press enter, then type at the prompt gpedit, Go to User Configuration>Administrative>Templates>System then Double Click on the Prevent Access to Registry Editing Tools and Click on Disable then Click Apply

6.) go to start again then press run then type regedit then delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\maskrider and also delete or change
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title=[new title].

7.) restart your computer then then go to My Computer, go to folder options through the tools menu then press the view tab, then to the advance settings window check on do not show hidden files and folders check hide extensions for known file types and check hide protected operating system files.

combination of TLA killer and Active Virus Shield will do the job getting rid of that !@$#%^ virus. The anti virus will delete the back up of the virus in the system restore and the TLA killer will delete the Autorun.inf in your drives. It will work on mamatay na ang mga taga lipa and other related worms.

Para mawala na yan, edi download na lang kayo ng Avast anti-virus free edition, tapos ad aware SE, then CCleaner para sa registry cleaning.

At ang pinaka safe talaga sa lahat to prevent this shit, mag Mozilla Firefox na lang kayo with Script Blocker addons to prevent this shit.

just use them up, at nde nyo na puprublemahin yang lecheng taga-lipa na yan…

Update mo na lang anti-virus mo.
Ayaw tuloy flash drive kung cliclick sa my computer pero gagana pa ito kapag right click tapos explore. Kung may quarantine management antivirus, delete mo yung file.

my computer restarts when i try to download the microsoft malicious software removal tool. Sir Martin, I tried last night your NOOB Killer on my External HDD to resolve that TLA Virus which caused me troubles (cannot open by double clicking). After executing all options on your NOOB and restarting my laptop, I cannot access/open the two drives of my External HD anymore. It can be detected though in any desktop/laptop but it seems nothing was there because it was not listed in MY COMPUTER drives even if I refresh the folder over repeatedly. I tried System Restore as well but it doesn’t work. Is there a way I can recover them? And use again my EHDD? But how?… Pls help me…. Thankz!!!

Guys yng problem nyo sa Strawberry virus mma re-resolve ng Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0, may bagong version ngayon 7 download nyo, pati virus nyo sa HDD external at USB memory tangal, yan ang gamitin nyo, pag install nyo update nyo yng KASPERSKY then scan nyo muna pagkapos mag scan, punta kayo ng regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\currentVersion\winlogon, then delete nyo yng may PROMISE at yng may sentence na strawberry, dalawa ang entry ng i re-remove nyo after non ok na. hindi gagana ang AVG at NOD32..hindi nya makikia yng virus na yan.

what about tmms817.dll.vbs? avg can’t totally get rid of it.i can’t open my removable drive by just double clicking on it as it says “cannot find tmms817.dll.vbs”…i once deleted the tmms89.dll.vbs and this new one surfaced.
and my system is plagued with multiple processes of svchost.exe, lass.exe, e-fatzib.exe. ano ba toh.d ko rin maaccess ang folder options ko, and can’t run registry editor.

uhh.don’t bother.nasolve ko na rin.manual deleting lng pla.finally gained access to the registry editor and the folder options at ayun the f$cking virus made a folder full of system file clones that are infected.all infected file’s names rae in blue color character instead of black.ganyan din ba sa inyo? curious lng ako.the only one left was a worm/virus ba un na nagadisguise as “recycler” and acts like a recycle din in my drive c.i can’t delete it pero pde imove to desktop then saka to tinatapon sa basurahan but after i empty the recycle bin,bumabalik xa sa drive c when i open the drive.

hi, i tried your removal tool but when i click on the noob_killer, it says that it failed to load the progress bar from COMCTL32.OCX.Your version of the COMCTL32.OCX may be outdated. Make sure that you are using the version of the control that was provided by the application.

it says

“windows cannot find ‘gpedit.msc’ make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

sorry bro.. un na lang talaga yung alam kong paraan.. nagwork kasi yung manual removal steps ko dun sa ibang ganyan din yung case.. baka naiba yung name nung .dll na nagpapatakbo dun sa script in loop.. anyway, kung meron kang Palm OS device o kaya kahit anung device na hindi windows yung platform, maiidentify mo kung anu yung .dll na file at ibang associated na files dun sa virus..

I’m using Avast Home ed anti virus and ie7. Copied a movie from my friend’s pc which is infected by the oragon u virus which manifested in his computer at the clock and greatly slowed down his pc. So far hindi pa lumalabas yun virus symptoms sa pc ko. The reason Idownloaded the anti virus for the oragon for preparation. Mahirap ng tamaan. Is there any “vaccine” for this virus or do you need to get hit first then treat later? How do you get infected in the first place? Thanks.

bar 311 removal

1. restart your pc and start in safe mode try to used other user account
2. my computer goto menu bar tools > folder options>> click show hidde files and folders.
3.uncheck the hide extesios for known file types
uncheck hide protected operating system files
4. open drive c: goto windows folder find the bar311.exe then delete it find the pclowbat something that then delete it empty the recycle bin the restart! asus panis ingat lang kayo sa gma scandal yun ang the best hehehe

Hello po, I just want to ask kung san po nanggagaling ung virus na to para lang po maiwasan sa PC ng cuz ko. I’ve been seeing this Taga Lipa Are in his IE for days now and I don’t think he has any idea that this is a virus.
I just want to know kung san po nangagaling if it’s from a website or an email attachment so I can tell him.

Taga Lipa Are virus got into my laptop and thanx to the tehnical information given in your website and the provided removal tool I was able to save my cherised files from possible disaster. hi biscuit, the main means of propagation of this worm is through mass storage devices, removable media such as flashdrives, memory cards or it’s other name derivatives “usb drive, thumb drive, pen drive”

it uses the autoplay feature to automate the script hence allowing the files to be copied, and infect more users once a new “uninfected” drive is inserted.

you can find a “disable autoplay” feature from the noob killer tools menu to prevent worms from automatically infecting your PC.

Khacy, about your Runtime error 76, please extract the noob killer’s zipfile first before running, this should fix the file access error,
also, for the guys running vista, try running the noob killer as administrator.
I’ve tested it to work with vista basic and ultimate, windows 2000, xp sp1-3
even under wine

Princeton, Prevention is the key, but since you’re already infected, you can use our tool here to get rid of it in one click, or you may try the manual steps that’s been posted on various websites.

Kristine, Not sure what you mean, but TLA (TAGA LIPA ARE) uses autorun.inf to get around, if you see it, then be suspicious, you can always use our tool here to get rid of it, of course, there are many “MORE” deadly worms, and viruses out there, again, Prevention is the key, it’s always better than cure.
about your numerous problems, we cant assure you that they will be fixed, but our tool here might help get you back in control.

have your anti-virus update, install an antispy, my top picks for these are
for AV:
Nod32, Kaspersky, I’ve been using these two for years.
for your anti-spy, there’s always Spybot SE, Ad-aware and Xoftspy, the first two are free, you must pay for xoftspy, its a good program and I use it myself.

regarding these “kuro-kuro’s”,
the answer is simple, that was never my intention, I’m here to help,
I need not explain myself since that was never our will.
I can always redirect you to people who are willing to help, if you have other problems

also, for kristine’s site advisor issue, the LINK reported there dated back since last year, the file there was from the old noob killer which uses a different FILE protector, prevents other meanies or even people from editing OUR file.
though, the packer or protector I used was known to be widely used by people who make keygens and cracks, anti-viruses hate these things, hence, our tool here uses the same routine, got caught up in their firefight.

I will try to contact them and assume friendly negotiation about the issue, the said file(s) are no longer on my website.
there is a similar file to it, but contains the updated noob killer (which is said to be CLEAN, by MOST anti-viruses [nod32/kaspersky] and other great ones.

it is a false positive, if you have question guys, I will be here to answer, you can reply to Sir martin’s page, or you can always check my website and post your queries there.
