Dream high, Pisay!
Over at his blog, Daddy Nice Ash has this to say to Pisay students on Pisay Meets World,
You did a great job. But I hope you didn’t just to this for the project; For the grades. I hope that you did this by heart and you really meant what you just showed on your entries. It is very warming to see that students also care for the future. You’re still young and we know that not too far, the success that you want is waiting. Don’t waste any chance of getting there.
I wanna share you this very simple, very straightforward… 10 words, 2 letters each. very meaningful. I heard this from my instructor on EBW 101.
Now, I want you to put that in mind.
I also suggest you to watch “ The Pursuit of Happyness “, if you haven’t yet. That really inspires me and I hope it’ll inspire you too.
In the movie, Chris Gardner (Will Smith) said to his son.
You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you can’t do it. You want something? Go get it. Period.
Another movie I would suggest is ” Pay It Forward! ” Like you, there’s a grade school class in a sub-urban area, that were given an assignment by their teacher. The assignment says,
“Think of a thing that can change the world and make it into action.”
What a little boy did? He make good deeds to 2 or 3 people, and instead of taking a payback, he told these people to pay it forward. Means, they have to do good deeds to 2 or 3 other people as well and don’t take a payback, and so on… Like virus, it spread out to different countries. And certainly changed the world.
