It’s official! Lost ends in 2010!
When will it end? 2010 after three more seasons with sixteen episodes each.
From TV.com:
ABC’s island drama to conclude after three more 16-episode seasons ending in 2010; Lindelof, Cuse sign on through finale.
Late last week, fans of the sci-fi serial drama Lost were tipped off to the answer to one of the show’s greatest questions: When is this all going to end? According to E! Online, ABC was preparing to announce that the show would end after its fifth season.
Turns out E! was partly right. ABC has announced that Lost will conclude after two seasons worth of material–48 episodes–stretched out over three seasons, reports Reuters. Seasons four, five, and six will be 16 episodes each, with the series finale airing in 2010. In addition, the seasons will air uninterrupted rather than take a break midseason.
Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have signed eight-figure deals to remain onboard through the end, and see the end date as a bit of a relief.
“We always envisioned Lost as a show with a beginning, middle and end,” said Cuse and Lindelof in a statement. “By officially announcing exactly when that ending will be, the audience will now have the security of knowing that the story will play out as we’ve intended.”
Lost premiered on September 22, 2004, and is currently winding down its third season.
This is great news! The writers really wanted to have an idea of when it all ends so that they could pay off all the mysteries and questions. I can’t wait.
